An international conference on ‘Old-Age Social Exclusion: Critical Gaps in Research and Policy’, with over 120 research and policy stakeholder delegates, was held at the Irish Centre for Social Gerontology, at the Institute for Lifecourse and Society in NUI Galway on Friday October 28th, 2016.
Involving a series of keynote presentations on different forms of exclusion and a policy panel discussion, the conference included European and international researchers and key European-level policy stakeholders as key participants. It offered critical debate and analysis of state-of-the-art knowledge and explored new directions in policy development on exclusion in later life. The conference marked the first step in establishing a longer-term European policy and research platform on this critical topic. Click here for the conference programme.
