The ROSEnet COST Action has contributed to nurturing and sustaining the study of old-age exclusion amongst early career researchers. This is evidenced by the membership of the ROSEnet PhD Forum, and the wider community of ECIs who participated in the ROSEnet Training Schools, ECI specialised training and the ECI scientific writing workshop.
Moreover, ROSEnet contributed directly to the development of ECIs as future leaders in research and scholarship on old-age exclusion, and more broadly in the field of ageing. ECIs contributed to and led on many academic dissemination activities. Early Career Investigators were invited to present their research at the network meeting held in Paris which was hosted in cooperation with the Caisse nationale d’assurance vieillesse in January 2019 and the network meeting held in Barcelona which was hosted in cooperation with the University of Barcelona in October 2019.
As a part of the final closing conference held in Brussels in March, some early career investigators were invited to reflect on the their participation in the Action. Arianna Poli, PhD student in Ageing and Later Life at the Division Ageing and Social Change (ASC), Linköping University (Sweden) gave a personal reflection on the involvement in the ROSEnet COST ACTION (CA15122) as a PhD student working in the field of old-age exclusion. While Dr. Rodrigo Serrat who is a Serra Húnter tenure-track lecturer and a member of the Gerontology Research Group at the Department of Cognition, Development, and Educational Psychology of the University of Barcelona, also reflected on his participation in ROSEnet activities.
