Social Exclusion in Old Age
Tackling social exclusion continues to be a major preoccupation for European countries. Following a series of economic crises from 2007 onwards, the risk of social exclusion for vulnerable groups has increased. Old age presents specific challenges for reducing social exclusion, yet existing knowledge is poorly developed, lacks synthesis and is spread across highly disparate disciplines.
In order to further a multidisciplinary dialogue, the French journal Retraite et société invites authors to contribute original research papers focusing on the challenges of reducing social exclusion in old age. We particularly welcome papers that are conceptually based, methodologically sophisticated, and oriented toward policy and practice. Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches are welcome, and papers can be submitted from social science, practice based, or policy perspectives. We welcome papers that demonstrate new links between research and policy, and enhance evidence-based and effective innovation. The volume on social exclusion in old age is coordinated with the COST Action, ROSEnet (CA 15122, “Reducing Old-Age Social Exclusion”: Collaborations in Research and Policy”) and we particularly welcome papers from members of the Action.
- Manuscript submission deadline: 31st July, 2017
